Joanna Voth RMT
Joanna has a love for anatomy and satisfying specific treatment of muscle tissue, fascia, visceral fascia, and ligaments, and also has deep appreciation for the greater somatic experience. She’s curious to explore the benefits of working with the nervous system and treating the body as an integrated system, rather than as separate parts in isolation. She aims to hold a warm and safe therapeutic space for slowing down and listening to your body.
Joanna approaches treatment as a collaboration, guided by your needs, which may include rehabilitation, maintenance, symptomatic relief, and relaxation. She enjoys introducing your body to novel ways of holding itself using massage and movement, with the aim of relieving pain, finding balance, and reconnecting with self. In your session you can expect history taking, relevant assessment, and homecare recommendations as needed/desired.
In her practice, Joanna integrates myofascial release, Swedish massage, trigger point release, neuromuscular technique, joint mobilization, deep tissue massage, and active muscle release or assisted stretch techniques. She has experience working with chronic stress-related tension and pain, overuse or sports injury, central and peripheral nerve dysfunction, joint dysfunction, and headaches. She’s seeking to advance her practice in abdominal and visceral massage, rotator cuff injuries, nerve compression pain and patterns, and TMJ dysfunction and welcomes clients with these needs.
